CORE BASICS has officially opened the doors to its new home in
suite #24.
Still located at 3608 St-Charles blvd, we are just down the hall from our previous location.
When exiting the elevator, CORE BASICS is now the first office on the left hand side.

Tanya Rich has been working with us as a Pilates’ instructor for years
and we are pleased to welcome her in her new role
as manager of the Pilates’ side of CORE BASICS as I continue to focus on Osteopathy.
In an effort to utilize our greatest strengths and meet the needs of our clientele,

CORE BASICS will continue to offer private and semi-private Pilates classes
but will no longer be offering trios or group classes.
It would be our pleasure to recommend qualified professionals in the area
if group classes are what you are looking for.

We look forward to working with you in our new space,
Colleen Jorgensen, Tanya Rich and the CORE BASICS’ team

Upcoming Workshops Winter 2010

Rehab through Pilates
Continuing Education for Pilates Instructors

This 38 hour course is designed to help Pilates' instructors enhance their palpation and analysis skills. By the end of the 6-day course, you will look at your clients very differently and approach their program design from an entirely new perspective. Incorporating manual skills and intelligent movement choices, you will learn to look at your clients from the inside out and never look at the spine the same way again.

This 5-day course includes a detailed manual and emphasizes:

- Hands-on Pilates (improving tactile cueing, evaluation and exercise prescription skills)
- How to evaluate the functional mobility of the spine
- How to evaluate the functional strength of the stabilizing muscles
- Somatovisceral relationships and how they can aid us in program design
- The importance of a proper medical history and how to use the information in your program design
- Exercise variations to add more spine extension, rotation and lateral flexion to the traditional Pilates' repertoire

- The use of props to assist spine articulation and stability
