Where Pilates and rehabilitation meet...

Picture
NB:  Although we closed our Pilates' studio a few years ago, Pilates exercises are often given as a home program.  Groups classes and workshops are given throughout the year so keep an eye on our site for any upcoming workshops.
Over the years, many rehabilitation experts have adapted existing Pilates' exercises and developed new ones that compliment Joseph's original repertoire. Using the same principles as the original Mat series, several different apparatus are also used to further challenge our bodies with choreographed movement patterns.

The combination of Osteopathy and Pilates is ideal for rehabilitation, optimal athletic performance and the never-ending search for better posture and balance within our systems.  All of the major apparatus work with a spring and pulley system. Their design allows for immediate biofeedback and the ability to work muscles from a wide variety of angles and positions. They are therefore extremely beneficial for neuromuscular reconditioning.

The CORE BASICS team pulls together their experience in Athletic Therapy, Osteopathy and Pilates which gives them the ability to design a Pilates program that addresses each clients unique needs. Any client with significant rehabilitation needs will have an Osteopathic evaluation before starting their Pilates program.

The Pilates instructor will work along side the Osteopath or Athletic Therapist to build the client's program in order ensure that the program is safe, effective and addresses root of each clients injury or pain.
